Jealous much? Anyone who has grown up with a sibling has probably felt that painful sting of jealousy, but even those only children are not imune to it.

What do you think about jealousy? When are some times that you have been jealous in your life? And whatdoes the bible say about jealousy? Be prepared to discuss these questions and more in Sunday School this Sunday!

Updates on upcoming events

Hey Folks... So as you may or may not know Brad is going to be in and out sporadically during the rest of the summer which means that I (Clarice) will be running the majority of things in his absence. For all of you reading who have friends that want to go to SSP here's the deal, we only have 6 spots left before we have to close the trip to more people. So if you really want them to go call the church and get my cell # and have your friend(s) call me and let me know that they want to go. Also another note, which I will reiterate in next weeks blog...AUGUST 5TH: no Sunday school. That's not this weekend but next. Other than that come on down to the church on Aug 1st and meet me in the parking lot. We're going to be heading down to De La Guerra Plaza to grab some grub and watch the different acts performing there. Hope you guys are having a great week!

Harry Potter

Well, the wait is almost over- the new Harry Potter book is set to arrive in a little less than two days! J.K. Rowling has gone from writing words on napkins in an Edinburgh coffee shop to being a billionaire (that’s “billion” with a “b”) author, and it seems like everyone these days seems to be talking about Harry Potter. But what do you think? Are you enthralled with the “Boy Who Lived”, or have you just about had enough of the Harry Potter mania and wish it would just go away? Harry Potter has also made some Christians very angry about it’s portrayal of magic and wizardry- what do you think about all of this as a Christian youth? We’ll be talking about all of this in Sunday School on Sunday- so make sure to be there!

Sunday mission.... super secret

Hey Guys... This is Clarice the youth assistant. Hope your summers are going well and you're having fun. I had a good time at the Forester's game last week and if you didn't go, well then you missed out. But for now I have a super secret mission for all those reading the blog. Bring in the wackyest item you have at home (ex. the sweater from your aunt Myrtle you only wear at Christmas, odd rock art, home made invention, etc.). If ya do there's a prize in it for you so, bring something wacky and you won't regret it. Ok.... ready .... set... go!!!!

With the new flow of movies we've seen tons of sequels and big summer blockbusters- everyone from Spider Man to God himself (played by Morgan Freeman) has graced the silver screen- and we're not even technically a week into summer yet!
